The Social Library.
The idea of the Social Library is to, 'meet people in your local area to swap stuff with'. It will act as a lending service for local communities, where people can borrow stuff, make friends and help libraries. I was asked to come up with a logo for this enterprise, and heres what I came up with.
When should I visit?
Great idea, find the least busy time to visit the museums, galleries and theatres of London. Each place has a graph showing when it is busy and when its quiet so you can judge when to visit it. Brilliant but I want to see more places!
Open House Event Invitation.
Invitation to an event where there were handmade cushions, decorations, notebooks and ceramics for sale. I created the letters by cutting them out of the patterned paper first, then scanning them back onto the computer to use. This seems like the long way to do it, but I wanted it to look handmade, like the items on sale, and you cannot achieve that authenticness on the computer alone.
Masquerade Ball Invitiation.
Designed and handmade invitiation to a Graduation Ball with a 'Masquerade Ball' theme. The idea is for the invite to be a luxury item. It is hand letterpressed in two colours on good quality paper and wax sealed to add exclusivity.
Sacred Cafe
I've been to this tea shop on Carnaby Street before, but this time I have come away with photos! Ask for a pot of tea and you will end up with one of these...

The cups aren't particularly interesting but the excitement of a funky teapot totally makes up for it. Find out more here.

Tate Modern Sunflower Seeds
The new exhibition in the Turbine Hall as part of the Unilever Series consists of thousands of ceramic, handpainted sunflower seeds. The Tate has a video of the process and how the 'seeds' were made. Fascinating. See it here
I look forward to visiting it soon to get a closer look!
Noah Harris- Brother Printer advert.
Pretty cool piece of stop motion here. Lots of time and effort, and paper! A job well done.
IKEA vs 100 cats
Ikea let loose 100 cats into one of their stores recently for an advertising stunt. A huge risk as cats do what they want, regardless. A beautifully shot advert showing the audience visually how homey their products are with snuggly cats. I like the video, I think its a clever idea. I especially like how they have captured feline behaviour in the video, it is more authentic that way.
Enjoy.
Chalkboard Mug
I got this mug from my boyfriend for my birthday, perfect for demanding a cuppa! It comes with a stick of chalk for hours of tea related fun.
James Mollison
An inspirational photographer. He covers serious issues but also more light hearted, interesting discoveries. Below are a few photos from his project called 'Disciples' where he photographs music fans at concerts, focusing on the dedicated fans that have copied their heroes style for their own identity.
